OUR FOUNDER
Sumeet Wareh is a Professional Skills Coach who works with Peyton Krebs, Braden Schneider, Logan Stankoven, Cayden Lindstrom and other upcoming NHL prospects as clients. He founded the company in 2020 after specializing in video analysis and skill development at USport, WHL and Hockey Canada levels.
Sumeet's parents introduced him to hockey at two and a half years old. He grew up in Elkford, BC where his father laid great emphasis on skill development, both on and off the ice. Sumeet's dad encouraged him to participate in various sports such as taekwondo, basketball, soccer and track and field to help him develop his overall physical abilities. This diversified training has played a significant role in establishing Sumeet's foundation for playing junior hockey and enabled him to teach at a high level.

ADVISORY COUNCIL
Chris founded Blackfin in May of 2023. He is an executive and lawyer with over 25 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industry. He started his career with leading Canadian law firm Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, where his first sports client was the Air Canada Championship PGA Tour stop in Vancouver. He then joined the Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games, where he was Director and Senior Counsel for almost six years. In July 2010, Gear joined Canucks Sports & Entertainment, where he worked for 12 years in various roles including Chief Legal Officer and Assistant General Manager of the Vancouver Canucks. He also served as Governor for both the American Hockey League's Utica Comets and National Lacrosse League's Vancouver Warriors. Most recently, Gear spent a season as a writer and analyst for Daily Faceoff, a digital and web-based media platform covering the hockey industry, while also consulting for the Canadian Olympic Committee on a bid for the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Chris lives in Steveston with his wife, two teenage children and two well-fed cats.
Andrea is a high-performance leader whose career bridges elite sport, law, and strategic advisory work. A former National Team athlete in artistic swimming for Canada and a National Team coach for Switzerland, she brings a deep understanding of the competitive sport environment. After practicing civil litigation at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, she founded Westerlea Research Corporation, where she has delivered expert legal research and policy analysis for over two decades. She is also President & Managing Director of Next Shift Network Ltd., supporting athletes in sustaining well-being and preparing for life beyond sport. She is deeply committed to demonstrating the power of sport to positively shape and transform young lives. A long-time volunteer with several Calgary-area non-profits, Andrea is the mother of four boys—all high-performance athletes—and shares with her family a love of travel and sport.
Howie is an entrepreneur and strategic advisor with over 25 years of experience investing in and supporting businesses across a wide range of sectors, including sports medicine, construction, logistics, AI, and manufacturing. He obtained both his CA and ICD.D designations early in his career and has brought that expertise to bear while serving on numerous for-profit and non-profit boards. Most recently, he served as President & CEO of The Bodtker Group of Companies, where he led operations and successful exits across six businesses nationwide. He also brings over a decade of experience as President of Sage Business Services, consulting with executive teams on operational and strategic priorities. Earlier in his career, he was President of Palliser Lumber Sales Ltd., a lumber manufacturing company near Calgary. Deeply committed to service, Howie has been active in non-profit leadership through organizations like Clean Farms, Together We Stand, the Harbour at Riondel, and Habitat for Humanity. He and his wife have four active sons and share a love for the outdoors and competitive sport.
